Many holidays call for family traditions. Bringing out a box of memorable ornaments, setting out cookies for Santa, or other activities may be special to your family. While holding onto family traditions is important, it’s also ok to adapt.  For example, for extended family get-togethers, as children get older, it might make sense to try a different gift exchange approach. Rather than shopping for everyone, consider drawing names and buying for one person. The time and headaches saved in shopping can be a win to focus on spending time with one another.
